The capital market has an important role for a country's economy because the capital market carries out two functions. First, as a means of business funding or a means for companies to obtain funds from the investing public (investors). Law Number 8 of 1995 concerning Capital Markets has provided protection for investors in carrying out transactions in the capital market. The form of protection provided by the existence of a supervisory institution in capital market activities, namely Bapepan-LK, has been replaced with OJK and through the principle of information disclosure. OJK has regulatory, supervisory, inspection and investigation functions to protect the interests of each party in carrying out capital market activities. OJK has an important role in providing understanding to the investing public regarding investment in the capital market. This is one of the tasks of the OJK, so that the investing public can understand all aspects of investing in the capital market. It is hoped that the government will be able to reform Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection so that it can protect consumers optimally in this era of highly developed technological development. It is hoped that in the future the government will need to regulate online stock investment in a special law. It is hoped that in the future there is coordination and cooperation between the OJK and BPKN/BPSK in ensuring the protection of investors (consumers). Investors are expected to be more careful in searching for information and choosing clear Securities Companies that have obtained permits for their activities
